Jessica Serson
REGISTERED SOCIAL WORKER, RSW
SHE / HER
Life is constantly changing and transitions can be challenging. I offer trauma-informed, holistic support for people navigating new experiences and overcoming old experiences.
I work best with people experiencing anxiety, grief, mood disorders, and the emotions related to life transitions. I provide support using a solution-focused, motivational framework. I am trained in EMDR and can provide EMDR to assist clients in overcoming past traumas. I am a registered social worker and I am under supervision as a graduate student.
You are in control of your life's direction and purpose. My goal is to support you to overcome barriers and move forward with the life plan of your own design.
More about Jessica
As a Master of Social Work student, Jessica is committed to supporting individuals in developing a deeper understanding of themselves and their life experiences. She works collaboratively with clients to explore their values, strengths, and goals, helping them move toward a more meaningful and aligned life. Jessica believes that meaningful change comes from looking at both present challenges and the broader context of one’s past experiences.
Jessica approaches her work with an awareness of the social and systemic factors that shape people’s lives. She strives not only to support individual growth but also to acknowledge and challenge the barriers that can impact well-being. As a trauma-informed and diversity-affirming therapist, she is dedicated to creating a safe, respectful, and non-judgmental space where clients can explore their identities and experiences openly.
Jessica is particularly interested in supporting individuals navigating life transitions, identity exploration, and emotional regulation challenges. She aims to meet clients where they are, offering compassion, curiosity, and practical tools to support their unique journeys.
Jessica is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a therapeutic approach that supports individuals in processing and integrating difficult or distressing experiences. Through EMDR, she helps clients safely access and reprocess memories that may be contributing to current challenges, allowing for reduced emotional distress and the development of more adaptive beliefs. She integrates EMDR within a compassionate and client-centred framework, ensuring that the pace and focus of the work align with each individual’s readiness and goals.
Whether you are looking to better understand yourself, process past experiences, or build new skills for navigating life’s challenges, Jessica is here to support you every step of the way.
